A compact Black Sea province of rivers, waterfalls and whitewater — Efteni Lake, the Melen River rafting and lush forested highlands between Istanbul and Bolu.

City guide

Düzce is a small but scenically rich province on the western Black Sea coast, known for its rushing rivers, oak and beech forests and adventure tourism. The Melen River is one of Turkey's most popular whitewater rafting courses, while Efteni Lake is a peaceful bird-watching and picnic destination.

Konuralp, just outside the city, is an ancient Roman settlement with a small but well-stocked archaeology museum and atmospheric ruins in an orchard setting.
